Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Zanussi Refrigerator.
Regular Cleaning
To ensure optimal performance, regularly clean the inside and accessories of the refrigerator with warm water and bicarbonate of soda. Avoid using soap or detergent as their smell may linger, and dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Defrosting
The refrigerator automatically defrosts every time the compressor stops. Ensure the defrost water discharge hole in the centre of the drip collector is clean to avoid overflow. Use the provided defrost cleaner.
Temperature Settings
Set the refrigerator thermostat to an intermediate position (3-4) for usual conditions. Adjust based on factors such as room temperature and frequency of door opening. If the fridge isn't defrosting properly, lower the thermostat setting to allow automatic defrosting.
Condenser and Compressor Maintenance
Once or twice a year, dust the condenser (black grill) and the compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner to maintain efficiency and reduce electricity consumption.
Energy Saving Tips
Keep the appliance away from heat sources, ensure good ventilation, and avoid leaving the door open for long. Prevent unnecessary frosting by packing food in airtight packages and allow warm food to cool before refrigerating.
